City of Palm Bay utilities staff updated the council on a June force-main break near 1050 Claremont that released an estimated 2,410,000 gallons of sewerage into the Turkey Creek watershed, with about 1,250,000 gallons recovered and roughly 1,160,000 gallons released to the environment.
Utilities Director Gabriel Boden told council crews first responded after the break was reported June 8, and that contractors were called in when crews found a large breach in a 20-inch main. The bypass was restored to the treatment plant the next day, Boden said.…
