Staff said changes include an updated allocation deadline date for groups applying to rent fields for the 2026 calendar year, a $1-per-hour increase for softball and baseball diamond rentals to offset labor costs, and a $20 increase to the daily tournament rate at the Saratoga and WRO complexes. The policy revisions also update which soccer-field sizes are located at specific sites and include minor wording changes to tournament provisions.
Board members asked several operational questions, including about the brand and purpose of the drying agent used on fields (staff said "Turface," a calcified-clay drying product) and whether lacrosse fields exist in the inventory; staff confirmed the turf field at Mindiola has permanent sewn-in lines and goals and that both turf fields are used for lacrosse. Sarah Roth moved to approve the revisions and Alderman Camacho seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Staff characterized the changes as minor and intended to keep the city's rental rates competitive with nearby municipalities.
