Mark Thompson and recreation staff presented a catalog of 432 class listings for the term and described changes to how some programs will be offered. Thompson said the homeschool program will shift to a unit-based registration (participants pick specific sport or art units) and that pickleball remains at capacity for indoor play; the city will add an early-morning pickleball session at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesdays staffed by volunteers. Staff also noted an increase in the county-run learn-to-skate program fees and minor price adjustments but did not list dollar changes in the board discussion.
Board members asked questions about adult basketball league structure and team capacity. Staff said Tuesday night play can accommodate eight to 10 teams through use of additional gyms and Wednesday play is limited to about six teams at the Schuetze Recreation Center. Sarah Roth moved to approve the fall fees and charges schedule; John Smith seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Staff will implement the fee schedule as submitted and publish the fall activity guide; resident registration dates were presented in staff reports.
