Battle Creek opens 2025 community survey; invitation-only and community-wide rounds available
The City of Battle Creek has launched its 2025 National Community Survey to collect residents' priorities and experiences with city services, Mayor Mark Behnke said.

In early July, 3,000 randomly selected households received a postcard with a QR code and link to the invitation-only survey. A community-wide version with the same questions will open July 28 for any resident who wants to participate. All invitation-only and community-wide responses are due Aug. 11, and the city said responses will be kept anonymous by the vendor POLCO.

A paper version of the National Community Survey was described as arriving soon for residents who prefer mail. Behnke said if a household has already completed the online survey, there is no need to return the paper copy. The mayor directed residents with questions to the city's 3-1-1 information center at (269) 966-3311.

City leaders use the survey results to inform long-term planning, goal setting and policy development, the mayor said. Additional sign-up and notification options are available through POLCO and the city's alerts system.
