Planning commission approves minutes; staff reports June permits and plats down from last year

The Victoria City Planning Commission approved the minutes of its June 26, 2025 meeting and received the monthly development report at the July 17 meeting.
Planning staff reported that in June the department issued 123 building permits — fewer than the 132 issued in the same month last year — and processed 132 MEP permits, which staff said was also fewer than last year. Staff reported collecting $43,920 in permit fees for June, also down from the prior year. The department recorded five minor plats, four major plats, one site plan and one "force and foresight modification plan" submitted in June, and noted one city council action in May approving a variance discussed separately.
Commissioners moved the consent agenda and approved the minutes for the June 26 meeting. A planning staff member also announced that Victoria City is accepting applications for two planning commissioner openings; Celeste said applications are open through July 31 and invited interested residents to contact the planning office for application materials.
There were no additional items from commissioners and the meeting adjourned.
