The Village of Jackson Plan Commission on July 17 recommended the Village Board approve Ordinance 25-09 to rezone parcel V300400A from Planned Unit Development to B-2 Downtown Business District for Center Main LLC.
Owner John Bagley described plans to convert the building into a two-story antique mall with retail on the main floor and an open second story, and said the site already includes an ADA-compliant ramp to the hall. Bagley said he and a co-owner operate Rusted J Resale and that they bought the building about two years ago; the design includes parking and ADA-compliant access to be finalized in subsequent submissions.
Staff and the commission clarified that the vote was limited to rezoning; building permits, construction plans and code compliance will be reviewed when the applicant submits construction plans. Commissioner Hoffmeister moved to recommend the rezoning and Commissioner Molkentin seconded; the motion carried.
