Tim Shwekey of Civic Tech Consulting presented a public participation plan for the Village of Jackson zoning-code update at the July 17 Plan Commission meeting. The document describes how staff, the consultant, the plan commission and the village board will solicit and use public input during the code rewrite.
Shwekey said the team will conduct listening sessions within the next two weeks and then schedule a session with the plan commission to discuss the project. The plan identifies specific tasks for staff and the consultant to inform and engage the public during the update.
Commissioner Molkentin moved to recommend the plan to the Village Board and Commissioner Van Epperen seconded. With no further questions or comments, the motion carried. The plan commission will receive additional outreach results and schedule follow-up meetings as the code rewrite proceeds.
