The Village of Jackson Plan Commission on July 17 recommended that the Village Board approve a conditional use request and site plan for Metro Hardwoods to expand its building at N173 W20855 Metro Court, subject to municipal engineer approval.
Commissioners said the proposed addition would be on the south side of the existing building, on an area now shown as grass. Commissioner Van Epperen moved to recommend approval and Commissioner Hoffmeister seconded; after brief discussion the motion carried.
During discussion a commissioner asked how the expansion would affect impervious surface coverage. Staff answered that the village currently has no impervious-surface regulation in its ordinances, meaning there is no numeric limit applied to the proposed increase in pavement or building footprint.
The plan commission recorded no further conditions in the meeting minutes beyond the stated requirement for municipal-engineer approval. The project will proceed to the Village Board for final action and to engineering review as required by staff.
