Antoinette Terrell, executive director of the Richmond Housing Authority, told the RNCC on July 14 that Eden Housing and Community Housing Development Corporation (CHDC) have been selected as the developer partners for the Nichtram Village project.
Terrell said the authority held a site visit with Eden and CHDC and will begin negotiations with those developers. She asked interested residents to attend a public meeting about Nevin Plaza Phase 2, scheduled for July 15 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the City Council chambers and online; the project would construct 76 units intended for seniors, permanent supportive housing and people with special needs. The city posted meeting links on the Richmond Housing Authority website, Terrell said.
Terrell also provided economic development updates: the ARPA small business support grant program has distributed about $232,000 to 33 Richmond businesses as of July 11, and the authority is developing an on‑demand business support program to offer planning and marketing assistance for applicants in the coming months. She said arts and culture staff are reviewing proposals for main library renovation artwork and will post new public‑art opportunities within 30 days.
Ending: Terrell asked people interested in serving on the Economic Development Commission to apply; she also noted Music on Main (July 24) and other upcoming community events.
