City engineering staff told the council that although the public hearing was required by notice, bids were due July 8 and the city received no responses. The presenter said staff met with contractors who expressed concerns about how the project was packaged and that staff will change the project structure for rebidding.
The project covers major corridors including Business 151; staff said the rebid will aim to attract contractors by changing how construction sections and scheduling are defined.
The council closed the public hearing; staff said they will post a new hearing date when the project is reissued.
