Clovis police announce National Night Out event Aug. 5 with community partners and helicopter landing

The Clovis Police Department announced that National Night Out will return to Greenacres Park on Aug. 5 from 6 to 9 p.m., featuring community booths, free family activities and law-enforcement displays.
Ginny Stacy, the department's new community relations coordinator, told the commission the event will include more than 30 local businesses and organizations offering information and free activities such as yard games and free face painting. Stacy said several emergency service vehicles will be on display and that Aero Care plans to land its helicopter on First Street around 7:30 p.m.
"We are going to have over 30 local businesses and organizations attending," Stacy said during her presentation. "Anyone that attends can partake in yard games. We have free face painting, a lot of just fun things to keep Clovis residents entertained for the evening."
Chiefs and other police representatives introduced Stacy and noted the department's increased community outreach through social media. Commissioners encouraged public attendance and thanked the police department for organizing the event.
