The San Gabriel City Council on July 15 approved a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Arts Bridging the Gap (ABG), on behalf of the San Gabriel Valley Symphony (SGVS), to allow the newly formed orchestra to use the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse on a phased basis.
Under staff’s recommendation, SGVS will be treated as a seasonal tenant for an initial season of up to four concerts. For the first season staff recommended that SGVS pay the usual playhouse rental costs including deposit, building rental, staffing and security, plus event-specific third-party costs (for example, piano tuning).
