Napa County is pursuing acquisition of Camp Coombs within Skyline Wilderness Park to expand recreation, outdoor space and environmental preservation, county officials said. County staff led a site tour describing the property’s trails, oak woodlands and a small dam built in 1872 that spills into a stream.
The county said an appraisal is under way to determine the price for acquiring Camp Coombs. In 2024 the county purchased 874 acres of Skyline Park from the state for $7,200,000. County officials did not provide an estimated acquisition price or timeline for Camp Coombs in the briefing.
