The Tangipahoa Parish Council on July 14 unanimously approved a set of administrative actions and resolutions that will put tax renewals on the ballot and authorize procurement steps.
The council voted 8-0 to adopt Resolution 25-22, ordering a special election on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, to authorize renewal of a 4-mill ad valorem tax for a 10-year period to fund maintenance, operation and development of parish health units. The resolution also authorizes application to the State Bond Commission for consent and related approvals. The motion to adopt 25-22 was moved by Mister Mayhew and seconded by Mister Joseph; the meeting record shows an initial misstatement of the tally that the clerk corrected to 8-0.
