The City of Quincy Board of License Commissioners on July 15 approved a series of liquor licenses and related requests, including two one-day concert permits at Veterans Memorial Stadium, two community event permits for the HouseNET Community Council, a one-day Taste of Quincy permit, a common victualler license for a cafeteria at 1 Enterprise Drive, and the transfer of an all-alcohol restaurant license for East Ocean Restaurant.
The board, which convened with five members present, voted unanimously on each item. Chair Christo called each item and sought motions; board members approved each request by voice vote.
Alex Graven, representing Heritage Sports Ventures, asked the board to approve two one-day liquor licenses for concerts at Veterans Memorial Stadium, 850 Hancock Street, on Aug. 2 and Aug. 3 for performances by John Fogerty and Darius Rucker. "We will be running the bars very similar to the layout of our Free Jacks bars," Graven said, and added that canned alcoholic beverages would be sold generally while distilled spirits would be limited to a VIP structure built earlier in the year. The board approved the request.
