Columbia council defers short-term rental rules, schedules Aug. 5 work session to consider tougher enforcement

Rickerman said the move follows a year-and-a-half data-gathering effort and recent community input. "We have applicants who have applications for x amount of based on what's allowed, which is 2 people per bedroom, but are advertising for 24 and 32 people in houses," he said, arguing that the city needs better enforcement tools.
