The City of Brookings Council on July 14 authorized the city manager to execute a renewed memorandum of understanding with the Brookings Harbor Garden Club to continue volunteer maintenance of Azalea Park's formal gardens and the adjacent courtyard.
The agreement, presented by city staff, renews a long-running maintenance partnership. A city staff member said the club has maintained Azalea Park's formal gardens since 2021 and that the city has had a similar MOU with volunteer groups for park plantings and frontage areas dating to February 2011.
