The Missoula City Council on July 14 ratified three accounts‑payable batches totaling $11,021,718.93 and approved several routine items on the consent agenda by voice vote.
The council ratified accounts payable for checks dated July 1, 2025, totaling $6,347,930.70; checks dated July 8, 2025, totaling $1,553,174.49; and checks dated July 15, 2025, totaling $3,120,613.74. Those items were approved together by voice vote as part of the consent agenda. Council members recorded the voice vote for the grouped consent items as unanimous for the items taken at that time.
Other consent items approved included a motion to authorize the mayor to sign an agreement with CXT Incorporated for $93,966 to purchase and install a double‑occupancy vault restroom in Greeno Park and a first reading of an ordinance to revise Missoula Municipal Code 8.02 to adopt the Missoula City County Health Code by reference, incorporating revisions to Regulation 1 concerning wastewater treatment and disposal systems. The ordinance was set for a public hearing on Aug. 25, 2025.
Why it matters: Ratifying accounts payable maintains city operations and pays vendors; the restroom purchase funds park infrastructure; the health‑code ordinance revision will be subject to public hearing on Aug. 25 and could affect local wastewater treatment rules once adopted.
Procedural note: Councilor Vazika asked that item 8.4 (a resolution on rental‑market practices) be separated from the consent agenda; that item was considered separately by roll call and passed 8–2. No public comment was recorded on the consent items during the meeting.
Ending: The items advanced on the consent calendar are routine administrative actions; the ordinance revision will return for further consideration after the Aug. 25 public hearing.
