"My name is Lindsay MacLease, and I was approached to take on this commission. And I think it was an exciting opportunity for me. I've lived here for almost 2 decades," she said, adding that she has worked for developers, institutional clients and individual homeowners and has served on several professional boards.
The committee chair, Supervisor Shamone Walton, called the nomination and invited MacLease to speak. Vice Chair Supervisor Cheryl and President Mandelman participated in the committee vote. After public comment was called and no members of the public came forward, Chair Walton moved to amend the item language to replace "rejecting" with "approving" and to forward the nomination to the full Board of Supervisors with the committees recommendation.
On the motion to amend and recommend as amended, Vice Chair Supervisor Cheryl voted "aye," President Mandelman voted "aye," and Chair Supervisor Shamone Walton voted "aye." The clerk recorded that the motion "passes without objection." The committee clerk, Victor Young, noted at the start of the meeting that public comment would be taken on each agenda item and provided instructions for submitting written comments by email to victor.young@sfgov.org or by mail to City Hall at 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, Room 244.
During her remarks, MacLease said she has worked in the Bay Area across multiple jurisdictions and highlighted service roles including work with the structural engineering association board, the AE Business Leaders board, chairing the civil engineering department board at Berkeley, and serving on an earthquake engineering research board. She introduced two colleagues attending the meeting: Renee Vignon and Stuart Lewis, described in the record as a coworker and an architect and both noted as San Francisco residents.
The committee's recommendation means the nomination will be considered by the full Board of Supervisors at its agenda on July 22, 2025, unless otherwise stated.
