Brentwood commission adopts revisions to John P. Holt Library policy manual

The Brentwood Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to adopt resolution 2025-59, which revises the John P. Holt Brentwood Library Policy Manual, the commission announced.
Library staff, the library board and City Attorney Kristen Korn worked on the revisions. The library director told the commission the updates clarify behavioral expectations in the library, update programming policies and revisit meeting-room guidelines.
The director said staff “worked with [the] city attorney, ... police chief, and with the advisement of our wonderful library board” in drafting the revisions. Commissioners thanked the library staff and volunteers for the effort; the measure passed on a voice vote.
City materials posted with the agenda describe the changes as an update to the code of conduct, programming policies and meeting-room policy guidelines to provide clearer expectations and consequences for violations. The commission moved the item from the consent agenda into the regular agenda to allow brief discussion before a vote.
