Committee votes unanimously to lay over ADRC appointment until next meeting

The Health Equity, Human Needs and Strategic Planning Committee voted 4-0 Thursday to lay over consideration of the County Executive’s appointment of Andy Minster to the Aging and Disability Resource Center Governing Board.

The committee heard the item read into the record and then took a single procedural vote to postpone it until the next meeting. Supervisor Vincent moved to lay the item over; committee members Supervisor Gomez Tom, Supervisor Martin and the presiding chair recorded aye votes. No member voted no.

The item was described on the agenda as the County Executive’s appointment of Andy Minster to the ADRC Governing Board for a term ending Sept. 30, 2028. Committee members said the County Executive’s office had requested the item be scheduled later in the year and preferred it be considered during the September cycle. The action taken Thursday simply delayed formal consideration rather than approving or rejecting the appointment.

Because the committee’s action was a one-meeting layover, there were no committee directions to staff and no changes to the nomination. The appointment will return to the committee for consideration at the next scheduled meeting unless the County Executive formally withdraws or amends the nomination.

Meeting minutes show the motion to lay over was offered by Supervisor Vincent and passed on a roll call of four ayes, zero noes. No second was recorded on the transcript and no public comment was offered on the nomination.
