Scott County School District 2 board approves handbooks, staffing moves, kitchen schedule change and facility projects

The Scott County School District 2 Board of Trustees on an evening meeting approved a set of routine personnel, policy and facilities actions and heard an update on the district's summer meal program and student registration dates.

Dr. Nycomb, the district superintendent, said the district 'wrapped up this June handing out 14,000 more meals than what we did last June,' and credited weekend meal packs and the summer cafeteria crew for the increase. He also listed in-person registration times for each school and said the district expects online registration to open the morning of Tuesday, July 15, barring a state delay.

The board unanimously (5-0) approved the second reading and adoption of three student handbooks, which the superintendent said include attendance-policy updates to reflect new state laws that took effect July 1 and discipline provisions aligning elementary and high school rules for extracurricular participation.
