City corrects legacy wastewater low‑use discount; about two dozen accounts updated

Marcus (city staff) said the discounted low‑usage wastewater accounts were an oversight remaining from earlier water and sewer rate changes and that staff had removed the code and sent notification letters to affected customers. "We found this hiccup of about 2 dozen people that were still under that old billing code that are being updated now," Marcus said.
Staff emphasized the change is an administrative correction to remove the discount; the sewer rate itself has been the same since the 2022 rate update. Staff said they worked with billing clerks to prepare and send notices and offered to answer customer questions about the change.
