Providence planning commission approves prior minutes, recommends Bob Hanke as chair and Julie Martin as vice chair

The Providence Planning Commission approved the minutes from its previous meeting and recommended new leadership at the July 9 meeting.
After a brief roll call the commission voted to approve the prior meeting’s minutes; the motion carried. Later in the agenda commissioners nominated and voted to recommend Bob Hanke as planning commission chair and Julie Martin as vice chair. Commissioners recorded the nominations by voice vote; the commission will forward the recommendations to City Council for confirmation.
Chairing and process note: Shelley, who opened and chaired the meeting, led the minutes approval and later introduced the nominations. Commissioners present included Michael Fortune, John Henderson, Bob Hanke, Joe Chambers and Chair Shelley; Julie Martin was excused. The vote to recommend the leadership changes was unanimous among members voting at the meeting. The City Council will receive the commission’s recommendation and may confirm or modify the appointments.
