The council awarded a contract for the 500 West and Telegraph traffic signal project to Sunrock Corp. in the amount of $336,692.44 and awarded the Mill Creek box culvert apron repair project to Feller Enterprises for $59,650. Both awards were moved and approved without extended debate.
Council also adopted a resolution appointing members and alternates to the city's employee appeals board. The named permanent members and alternates were presented during the meeting.
The council had spent time in a workshop discussing the proposed easement and facilities liability agreement with the St. George and Washington Canal Company. Staff reported edits intended to clarify responsibilities if the canal company undertakes replacement or expansion work that would damage public infrastructure. Council members asked for clearer language and asked staff to remove the word "widespread" from a paragraph that described the scope of destruction that would trigger repair responsibilities. With that change the council approved the resolution unanimously.

City staff said the traffic-signal contract will be paid by the city and reimbursed by the developer per existing agreement. Public-works staff explained the culvert apron work followed high flows that damaged the Mill Creek apron during recent storms and the project was brought forward quickly to repair the trail infrastructure.
The council's formal actions will be memorialized in written agreements and staff instructed to finalize the revised canal agreement language before sending it to the canal company for signature.
