Crescent City — The City Council appointed Council member Candice Tingler to represent the council on the stakeholder group for the Alley Specific Plan after a brief staff update on the consultant’s work and planned public engagement.
City staff reported that the contracted consulting team (referred to in the meeting transcript as Crandall or AMBLA and their economic subconsultant) completed initial data analysis before June 30 and is ready to begin broader stakeholder engagement. Staff said the stakeholder group will include a council representative, a planning-commission representative, downtown business owners and other community members, and that the first stakeholder meeting is tentatively planned for August, likely in the evening to accommodate a larger group.
During the meeting a council member expressed personal interest in serving on the stakeholder panel, saying it was an area of passion, and the council confirmed the appointment with no objections. Staff emphasized that any decisions by the stakeholder group would return to the full council for formal action.
