Organizers described this year’s tournament as their biggest yet, with 27 youth teams and eight adult teams. They said teams traveled from multiple communities, including Bernal, Richfield, Manti, Carbon County, Vernal and Roosevelt. One presenter estimated the tournament brought “at least 3 or 400 people” to the community on Saturday alone and said local businesses and lodging (Big Mountain Lodge, local Airbnbs) benefited from overnight stays.
Organizers also thanked the bridal bureau and other local businesses for donations that paid for team shirts, hats and other tournament expenses. They said raised funds are used for tournament apparel and scholarship awards; they asked the travel bureau to note the tournament’s role in promoting local visitation and supporting the scholarship fund.
No action was required of the board; the presentation served as an informational update and an expression of thanks to donors and venue partners.
