Council approves first reading to rezone Salmons property on 50 Second Street to PUD 4 amid traffic concerns

Wyoming City Council on July 7 approved first reading of Ordinance 10-25 to rezone 373850 Second Street Southwest from single‑family residential to PUD 4, a move the developer says will allow construction of about 207 owner‑occupied homes on roughly 38 acres.

The rezoning drew a string of public comments from nearby residents who said existing congestion on 50 Second Street — especially at school pickup and drop‑off times — makes additional housing and the requested density problematic. “Please, will you insist that a traffic study be done and that a thoughtful contingency plan be put in place before you accept the PUD 4 project,” resident Ted Brazyak told the council.
