Commission approves updated standard subdivision conditions after staff revisions and public questions

Senior Planner David Schlegel presented a package of updates to the city’s standard subdivision conditions of approval and recommended the Planning Commission adopt the revisions to align conditions with the recently adopted general plan, its EIR and changes in state law and professional practice.

Schlegel said the package combines redundant conditions, incorporates mitigation and minimization measures from the general plan EIR, clarifies drainage and public‑works expectations, and splits and tightens language on cultural and tribal cultural resources consistent with the Public Resources Code. He said staff consulted with local developers and consultants and revised several conditions based on that feedback.
