City staff noted the two seats carry unexpired term end dates of Dec. 31, 2027 and Jan. 4, 2029 respectively; appointees will serve the remainder of those terms and are eligible for reappointment under the commission’s term rules. Councilmembers described both nominees as well‑qualified and expressed appreciation for their willingness to serve.
The appointments fill vacancies resulting from recent departures from the Planning Commission; staff indicated additional vacancies are expected as commissioners rotate off in the coming weeks. The council did not record a roll‑call vote; members voiced assent and the mayor declared the appointments approved.
