City to pursue replacement of damaged bus shelters, consider modern RTA standard with solar lighting and bollards

Staff said they plan to explore protective measures such as bollards for those locations and to pursue the modern Regional Transit Authority (RTA) standard shelters that include internal lighting and solar panels when ordering replacements. The city also submitted a grant application for two shelters to be placed along Brandt and Old Troy Pike, and staff said they are assessing ridership data to identify where benches or shelters are missing.
No formal action was taken; staff will report back with estimated timelines and insurance outcomes and follow up on the grant application status.
