Huber Heights to update industrial pretreatment ordinance to match Ohio EPA requirements

The update implements changes to state and federal requirements that affect how the city regulates industrial discharges to the sanitary sewer system. Staff said the redlined draft ordinance with revisions was included in the packet. The Tri Cities Authority — the interlocal authority shared by the three member cities — requires all member cities to adopt the revised code. Huber Heights currently has one industrial user covered by the program: a business identified as performing environmental services on Executive Boulevard.
The proposed ordinance is scheduled to appear on the council agenda; staff recommended council consider two readings so the codified update can be included with the current codification cycle. Staff said adoption is necessary to meet Ohio EPA requirements and to keep the Tri Cities Authority code consistent across jurisdictions.
