Huber Heights staff told council on July 8 they will seek construction bids to install a water main on Womack Street and Bethel Court after several residents reported failing wells.
Public works staff said the extension will allow affected homeowners to connect to the city system once they pay tap fees and any assessments established for properties east of the city. The project’s not‑to‑exceed budget is $450,000 and funds are available in the city’s water fund.
Staff said several property owners have expressed interest in connecting; the presenter estimated that three or four households had committed to tie into the main and that the immediate neighborhood included roughly 15–20 residences. The installation will include hydrants where appropriate; staff said this area is among the last denser‑residential pockets lacking hydrant coverage.
City staff will advertise for construction bids and return to council with award recommendations after the bidding process is complete. The item was placed on the upcoming Monday agenda for formal authorization to bid.
