Phil told the Board of Health the nine cases were reported in Utah County and in the St. George/Cedar City area. He said public‑health staff have worked with the state and are continuing to monitor the situation; the nine cases have exceeded their monitoring timeline and currently there were no additional active cases related to those individuals.
Nancy was credited with maintaining updated information on the department website and the local epidemiologist page. Phil said the department is preparing statewide guidance for school nurses and superintendents describing steps if a measles case appears in a school, and that the department would continue surveillance as schools reopen.
The department emphasized that no cases had been identified in Summit County as of the July 7 meeting, but staff said they would continue monitoring and coordinating with the state health authorities.
