Summit County Health Department to present draft Community Health Improvement Plan for board approval on Aug. 4

Summit County Health Department staff told the Board of Health on July 7 that a draft of the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) content will be presented to the board for approval at the Aug. 4 meeting and a final, public‑facing version is expected in September.
Nancy, who led the recent CHIP work group, said staff compiled notes and workbook inputs from the work group into prioritized goals and objectives (priority 1, 2 and 3) and are drafting the document. Staff will collaborate with Erin Lacombe’s team, which designed the workbooks and will format the final CHIP as a public‑facing, graphic document. Nancy and two colleagues (Kendra and Phil) are preparing the draft content for the Aug. 4 board packet; formatting and graphic design will follow.
Phil, identified in the meeting as the health officer, said the Aug. 4 board action will be to approve the content. He said the board should expect a plain, content‑focused packet at that meeting and that a final, formatted CHIP intended for the public would be presented in September. The department described the August submission as aligning with the budget schedule so staff can incorporate the plan into next fiscal year planning as needed.
No formal vote was recorded on the CHIP during the July 7 session; staff framed the Aug. 4 presentation as a content approval step ahead of a later public release.
