San Antonio Police Department officer (South Safe) described multiple calls for homeless encampments, squatting and drug activity at the address, saying officers regularly remove people who then return to the vacant structure. The officer told the board nearby schools and residential blocks make the location particularly concerning for neighbors.
The board voted 5‑0 to declare the property a public nuisance and ordered demolition within 30 days; the motion included vacating the property and removing debris. Staff recommended demolition based on the extent of fire damage and ongoing public‑safety issues.
