Resolution 2025-11 — Eliminate handwritten property tax cards (4.02): The commissioners passed Resolution 2025-11 to transition from the 1961 handwritten property record cards to computer-aided (digital) tax cards for daily operations. Jody Martin, tax services director, told the board the historic paper cards (about 72,000) will be transferred to the Franklin County archives where they will be maintained per retention law; staff will continue to provide explanations to the public and supply computer-generated tax-card copies on request. The office plans to transition paper cards to the archives in July following a June 30 cut-off for updates.
Video-retention policy for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office (4.03): Commissioners approved a formal policy clarifying that body- and car-camera footage will be retained for 60 days unless retained longer for active investigations or other reasons. The motion was described as formalizing existing practice.
Consent agenda change order — parking-lot/paving project: During the consent agenda, commissioners approved a change order of roughly $25,000 for demolition and paving of a new parking lot adjacent to county facilities. County staff said about $7,000 of the change order related to costs associated with an underground tank that was found during the work; the remainder covered earthwork to meet soil compaction standards before paving.
