The Tulare County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously July 1 to adopt an initial study/mitigated negative declaration and approve a general-plan amendment (GPA 25-005) and change of zone (PZC 25-004) for a property at 8347 Avenue 280 in the Caldwell area.
Ehrenbach, assistant director with the Resource Management Agency, described the site near Highway 99 and said the property currently hosts a concrete operation, a beekeeper and storage. RMA staff reported the proposal would change the general-plan designation from valley agriculture to mixed use and the zoning from AE-40 to C-2 (general commercial).
Staff said the project was studied with an initial study and a mitigated negative declaration that found no significant environmental impacts with mitigations, and the document is posted on the RMA website. With no public testimony, Supervisor Valero moved to adopt the CEQA determination and approve the land-use and zone changes; Supervisor Townsend seconded, and the motion passed 5–0.
