The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors approved a 28E cooperative agreement that makes the county the administering agency for a bundle of competitive highway bridge program grant projects. The agreement covers multiple jurisdictions and identifies two Kossuth County bridge structures — one east of Ledyard and one north of Fenton on P‑16 — to be included in the bundle.
County engineer staff told the board the grant will not be 100% federally funded and that the portion not funded would be drawn from the county’s farm‑to‑market funds administered through the state Department of Transportation. The board voted to approve the agreement and the accompanying resolution (Resolution No. 712503), and authorized the chair and the auditor to sign the documents so the county can proceed with state grant steps.
The motion to approve was made by Supervisor Garman and seconded by Supervisor Stecker. The roll call vote was unanimous.
