Three new Irving councilmembers sworn in at June 26 meeting

Councilmember John Block (District 1), Councilmember David Pfaff (District 2) and Councilmember Adam Mueller (District 7) each repeated the oath and were formally seated at the dais. The swearing-in followed presentations honoring outgoing council members and a brief recess for refreshments.
The oath included the standard pledge to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States and of this state,” language repeated by the new members as part of the ceremony.
The newly sworn members will take part in council business immediately; the meeting proceeded after the oath with a scheduled public-comment period.
No formal votes were required to seat the members; the swearing-in was ceremonial and administrative, administered by Judge Michael Acuna.
