The McCall City Council approved a letter to Valley County and instructed staff to include supporting materials when commenting on a proposed Valley County boundary for the McCall impact area. The county scheduled a public hearing July 7, 2025 at 2 p.m. in Cascade to consider its proposed map.
Michelle (city staff) briefed council that the city previously submitted a proposed impact‑area boundary in mid‑May; the county issued notice of its own proposed boundary and a July 7 hearing. The council reviewed a draft comment letter and asked staff to attach the data and documentation that supported the city’s proposed boundary so the county will have the full record to evaluate.
City attorney and staff recommended sending the supporting materials along with the letter. Council voted to approve the letter with the instruction to include the enclosures and authorized the mayor to sign. Staff said the deadline for written comments is the Monday before the county hearing and that a city representative will attend to present oral comments.
Council asked that staff coordinate attendance and noted the action is intended to build a clear administrative record for county consideration of the impact‑area boundary.
