The Skowhegan Select Board appointed Michelle Kelso to a full voting seat on the town planning board and named Adrian Sincere an alternate and Erin Scally the second alternate.
Steve Conley, chair of the planning board, asked the Select Board to reappoint Adrian Sincere because he had served previously as an alternate and had to step away for military service. The board also considered a third late application from Erin Scally, who has construction training and works with Passive House Maine; members agreed she would be a useful addition as an alternate.
After discussion on whether to fill one or two alternate spots at this meeting, the board amended its motion to appoint 1 full voting member and two alternates. The final motion to appoint Michelle Kelso (full member), Adrian Sincere (alternate) and Erin Scally (second alternate) passed 4-1.
Why it matters: The planning board reviews development applications, variances and proposals under the town’s land-use ordinances; membership affects quorum and the board’s capacity to hear matters promptly.
What the motion said: Appoint Michelle Kelso to the planning board as a full voting member and appoint Adrian Sincere and Erin Scally as alternates. The board recorded a 4-1 vote in favor.
Ending: The planning board will seat the new member and alternates and continue hearings; applicants not included on this meeting’s slate may be considered at a future meeting if they apply on time.
