The Elbert County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution adding supplemental appropriations to the 2024 budget so auditors can complete the county's 2024 financial audit and to account for recognized lease proceeds and pass-through impact funds.
Finance Director Tiffany Hermas told the board the largest item is a requested supplemental of $926,560 for the road and bridge fund tied to lease proceeds from capital purchases. She said the grant fund is being closed and the remaining balances will be moved to the general fund. A third supplemental was described as related to impact escrow and SAA escrow with Independence; Hermas stated the amount during the meeting as approximately $993,827 to cover pass-through expenditures.
Hermas said these are largely accounting-close items necessary to complete the audit rather than new recurring commitments. Commissioners unanimously approved the resolution to add the supplemental appropriations.
The board also approved routine minutes and consent items earlier in the meeting; the supplemental resolution was presented as part of wrap-up of fiscal-year 2024 auditing work.
