County updates jail intercom and door control replacement; RFPs and funding gap to be scoped

The project team issued an RFP for design and scoping so that a single coordinated replacement can be implemented rather than multiple small repairs.
Funding for the immediate RFP/design work will come from administration special‑projects funds, which lets the existing 2025 intercom allocation remain available. Once the design work is complete, staff will know the total project cost and present options to the committee and full board for how to close any funding gap. Staff said they have engaged the sheriff’s office and CCITC to identify operational and technical requirements and will return with cost and funding recommendations.
The committee did not approve further funding at this meeting; staff will bring the RFP results and proposed funding sources back to the committee for action.
