Meadow Creek event organizers and local residents told the Town of Buena Vista Board of Trustees on Tuesday that a large concert this weekend will include new mitigation measures and community outreach.
Promoter Jed Selby, introduced during public comment as a Buena Vista resident, said Pretty Lights’ Yondan concert will be produced by a local Buena Vista company and that organizers are attempting new sound-reduction measures and a main-stage curfew of 11 p.m. Selby said the festival schedule includes music at the pond Thursday from 6 to 9:30 p.m., daytime performances Friday and Saturday, and that the full schedule is posted on Meadow Creek’s website.
Town officials said the public comment was informational; no action or permit decision took place. Organizers described outreach and mitigation steps and asked the trustees to consider staff or trustee liaisons to monitor community concerns during the event.
Selby and fellow commentator Eddie Sandoval emphasized economic and charitable benefits. Selby said Meadow Creek had raised $30,000 for the Buena Vista Boys & Girls Club. Sandoval, who said he had toured the property with other artist teams, called the visiting artists “thoughtful” and said the event could bring significant short-term and long-term visitation to the Upper Arkansas River Valley.
Organizers provided a community relations email (community@meadowcreekco.com) and a phone number ((719) 838-3855) for real-time complaints. Trustees did not vote on any Meadow Creek permit during the meeting; public comment is recorded as part of the meeting’s public-comment period.
Trustees and staff said they appreciate advance notice of large events and that staff will continue to coordinate with promoters on noise and traffic issues going forward.
