The Downtown Commission approved replacement of two tenant signs at 517 Park Street, the AC Hotel property, to reflect a rooftop restaurant tenant change.
Alex Barnett, permit manager for Atlantic Sign Company, told the commission the work consists of refacing an illuminated rooftop wall sign and a 30-inch-by-30-inch blade sign on the Park Street facade. The Historic Resources Commission reviewed and approved the application last Thursday, staff reported.
Barnett said the signs will reuse existing mounting and infrastructure; the rooftop sign will retain its size and location and will have internally illuminated, white push-through letters on an aluminum base. The projector blade sign will be refaced; staff noted the blade sign could have been handled administratively but was included in the full application to preserve visual context.
Commissioners moved to approve the application as submitted. The motion passed by voice vote.
