Craig Lee closed his final regular meeting as a member of the Huron School District 02-2 Board of Education and received remarks of appreciation from fellow board members and district leaders.
Lee, who noted this was his final meeting after eight years of service, told the board serving had been educational and gave him insight into the details of running a school district. "These last 8 years have been, you know, an eye opening experience to see what goes into running a school... Where do we get our lunch, Where do we buy our buses? Where do those come from? Who maintains those?" Lee said.
Board members and the superintendent thanked Lee for his leadership and contributions; the superintendent specifically credited Lee with helping the district's rebranding effort. The board presented Lee with a plaque and a golden apple in recognition of his service. Lee told the board he appreciates the district and community and said he looked forward to continuing to support the schools as a community member.
Ending: The board recessed for a goal-setting session after Lee's remarks. No formal action accompanied the recognition.
