Motion carried. • Transferred $15,000 from asphalt to concrete line items as requested by the road department. Motion carried. • Approved a $2,000 transfer into CASA travel (see separate article). Motion carried. • Approved sheriff’s requested transfers to fund interim communications equipment ($7,000) and a corrections certification ($500). Motion carried.
- Procurement and contracts • Found Federal Signal to be a sole-source provider for a siren upgrade and authorized a purchase order; motion carried (see article on sirens). • Awarded lease-purchase financing for road equipment to Delta Bank (5-year rate, 4.69%); motion carried. • Authorized advertising and procurement for Emergency Watershed Protection projects EWP 045 (Old Highway 84, Kingston Road in Dunbar/Bayou) and EWP T079 (Quitman Road and Kenshin Road). Motions carried.
- Grants, programs and other items • Approved a grant extension for a community development/business grant (Jones Lumber) to Sept. 1 to finalize close-out documents. Motion carried. • Authorized authorizations and routine board housekeeping items including approval of minutes for May and other routine approvals. Motions carried.
For each approved motion, staff were instructed to return with final contracts, cost estimates, or further budget detail where necessary. The items above reflect formal approvals the board took during the public meeting; staff will implement purchases and report back as required.
