The City Commission unanimously approved resolution 2025-20, authorizing a three-year landscape maintenance agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation.
Stephen Slaughter, Director of Utilities and Public Works, summarized the agreement as a routine renewal of an existing arrangement under which the city performs mowing, trimming and debris removal on identified state road rights-of-way within city limits. Mr. Slaughter said the agreement covers about half a dozen state roads and represents the same service the city has provided under the prior agreement; the new term will replace the expiring contract later this year.
Commissioners voted 5–0 to approve the resolution authorizing the city manager to enter the three-year agreement with FDOT.
