On June 23 the Brentwood City Commission selected six community volunteers to serve on the Brentwood Veterans Monument Ad Hoc Committee and appointed Vice Mayor Little as the commission's representative to the committee.
Commissioners cast ballots to fill six seats; the commission reported that selected members received at least four votes. The six chosen are Thomas Freeman, Melissa Lincoln Holter, James Lundquist, Thomas Carr Jr., Jeff Walton and Lenora Kochenowski. Commissioners also unanimously approved Vice Mayor Little as the commission representative on the ad hoc committee. The commission said it will notify winners and non-winners by mail or email and will return at a later meeting to formally adopt a committee title.
City leaders said the committee's purpose is to plan a monument honoring those who have served in the armed forces, and they noted the commission intends to formalize the committee's name as the "Brentwood Veterans Monument Ad Hoc Committee." Mayor Andrews thanked applicants and urged those not selected to stay involved with volunteer work for the project.
Balloting and selection took place during the commission's regular meeting; there was no separate public comment or contested vote recorded for individual appointees.
